Company Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 -3 oz. pkg. lemon jello
    1 cup boiling water
    1 small can crushed pineapple (undrained)
    1/4 cup sugar (opt.)
    8 oz. cool whip (some less)
    1 cup shredded mild cheddar cheese
    1/2 cup chopped pecans (opt.)
Preparation
    Dissolve jello in boiling water. Stir in pineapple and sugar. Let cool 45 minutes in refrigerator.
    Fold in remaining ingredients.
    Put in 9 inch square dish.
