Refrigerator Roll Dough - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. hot water
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1/4 c. shortening
    2 pkg. active dry yeast
    1 c. warm (not hot) water
    1 egg, beaten
    5 1/4 c. (about) sifted all-purpose flour
Preparation
    Combine hot water, sugar, salt and shortening.
    Cool to lukewarm.
    Sprinkle yeast over warm water in a large mixing bowl; stir until dissolved.
    Stir in lukewarm water mixture.
    Add egg and 2 1/2 cups of the flour; beat until smooth.
    Stir in remaining flour and beat
    1 minute.
    Dough will be soft.
    Place dough in greased bowl; brush top with soft shortening.
    Cover tightly with wax paper or aluminum foil.
    Store in refrigerator until doubled in bulk.
    (Dough may be kept 1 week in refrigerator at about 40\u00b0 to 45\u00b0.)
