Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

16 c. cucumbers, sliced about 1/4 inch thick (4 1/2 lb.)
6 c. thinly sliced onions (2 1/2 lb.)
1/2 c. salt water
3 trays ice cubes
5 c. sugar
5 c. cider vinegar
1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
1 1/2 tsp. mustard seed
1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
Preparation

In 7-quart sauce pot, mix cucumbers, onions and salt.
Cover with cold water and ice cubes; let stand 3 hours.
Drain; rinse well and drain again.
Set aside.
