Apple Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. cubed bread (day old)
    4 c. milk, scalded
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. butter or margarine, melted
    2 large apples, peeled and sliced
    1/2 c. each raisins and chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Place the cubed bread in a bowl; pour scalded milk over the bread and allow the cubes to become well soaked and slightly cool. Beat the eggs only until mixed.
    Add sugar, salt and vanilla to eggs; stir into bread mixture.
    Add melted butter and stir. Grease a 2-quart baking dish and pour in pudding; add apples, raisins and walnuts; stir together.
    Set the dish in a pan containing 1-inch of hot water and bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 60 to 75 minutes, or when knife inserted in center comes out not too wet.
    Serves 10 to 12.
