Chess Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick butter
    1 box brown sugar
    4 egg yolks
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    4 egg whites
    2 c. plain flour
Preparation
    Melt butter. Add sugar. Blend. Add egg yolks; beat well. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Fold in nuts. Add vanilla. Beat egg whites stiff. Fold into mixture. Spread into greased and floured 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 45 minutes. It will rise, then fall.
