Georgia'S Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. soda
    4 eggs
    3 c. flour
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 c. jam
    1 c. seedless raisins
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar together.
    Add eggs 1 at a time, beating well after each.
    Add soda to buttermilk and beat until it foams. Add to butter/sugar mixture.
    Add jam, nuts and raisins; beat well. Sift flour and spices; add gradually, beating as you go.
    Pour batter into well-greased and floured tube pan.
    Bake at 300\u00b0 for 1 hour and 45 minutes.
