Applesauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 medium apples, each cut into fourths
    1/2 c. water
    1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/2 c. packed brown sugar
    1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
Preparation
    Heat apples and water to boiling over medium heat; reduce heat.
    Simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally, to break up apples, until tender (5 to 10 minutes).
    Stir in remaining ingredients.
    Heat to boiling; boil and stir one minute.
    Makes about 4 cups.
    Can be easily doubled or quadrupled for canning, just pour into hot jars.
