New England Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. diced bacon or ham
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    1 can cream of potato soup
    1 (8 oz.) can minced clams
    1/4 tsp. thyme
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    3/4 c. milk
Preparation
    In a large saucepan, cook and stir bacon or ham and onion until bacon is crisp and onion is tender.
    Drain drippings.
    Stir in soup and milk; heat, stirring occasionally.
    Drain clams (refill the can of clams with fresh water); add to mixture.
    Stir in lemon juice, pepper and thyme.
    Heat on low until desired thickness.
    Serves 4.
