Zucchini Apple Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 c. sliced overgrown zucchini
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. flour (or more, if needed)
    1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    a little cloves and allspice (if desired)
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    2 Tbsp. lemon juice
    dash of salt
    1 c. water
    9-inch double crust
Preparation
    Peel zucchini; remove seeds and slice like apples, 1/2-inch slices.
    Cook with 1 cup water until just tender and turning translucent.
    Drain and place in cold water for 5 minutes.
    Drain again thoroughly.
    Add sugar and spices and flour for thickening. Place in bottom crust; dot with butter or margarine.
    Top with top crust, seal and flute.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 40 to 50 minutes until golden brown.
    This is a real mock \"apple\" pie and very good.
