Pineapple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box yellow cake mix
    1 large can crushed pineapple
    1 c. sugar
    1 large box instant vanilla pudding
    1 (12 oz.) carton Cool Whip
    pecans and coconut (optional)
Preparation
    Bake cake per directions on box.
    Before cake is done, mix sugar and pineapple and boil 5 minutes.
    Pour over hot cake.
    Cool cake.
    Mix pudding according to directions on box and spread over cake.
    Spread on Cool Whip.
    Sprinkle with pecans or coconut or both or without either.
