Golden Ham Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. cubed, cooked ham
    2 Tbsp. chopped onion
    1/4 c. butter
    2 c. potatoes, partially cooked
    1 c. diced celery
    1 c. sliced carrots
    1/2 c. grated American cheese
    2 Tbsp. green pepper, chopped
    3 Tbsp. butter
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1 1/2 c. milk
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. buttered crumbs
Preparation
    Brown ham and onion in butter.
    Arrange layers of ham and vegetables in buttered 1 1/2-quart casserole dish.
    Make cream sauce of remaining butter, flour and milk.
    Add salt and cheese. Cook over low heat until slightly thickened.
    Pour over ham and vegetable layers.
    Sprinkle with buttered crumbs.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
