French Onion Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 yellow onions
    1 Tbsp. butter
    16 oz. beef broth
    French bread
    Swiss cheese, grated
Preparation
    Peel onions and slice thinly.
    Cook slowly in butter in a large covered pot, until tender and golden.
    Stir frequently.
    Add broth; bring to a boil.
    Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Put in individual ovenproof bowls.
    Place a slice of French bread on top; sprinkle with cheese.
    Place under broiler until brown (about 5 minutes).
