Ingredients

1 c. lard
2 c. sugar
2 whole eggs plus 2 yolks (keep 2 whites for filling)
2/3 c. cocoa
2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
4 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. sour milk or buttermilk
1 c. hot water
Preparation

Cream together lard, sugar and eggs.
Add cocoa, soda, salt, baking powder and flour alternately with milk or buttermilk and hot water.
Put on cookie sheet by spoonfuls and bake.
