Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. honey
2 eggs
1/2 c. ground raisins
3 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. sour milk or buttermilk
Preparation

Thoroughly cream the shortening and sugar.
Add honey and eggs; beat well.
Add raisins.
Sift dry ingredients.
Add milk; chill.
Roll 1/2-inch thick; cut in rounds or squares.
Bake on greased pan in a 350\u00b0 oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
Space well apart, as they puff in baking.
Makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies.
