Madeline'S Fruit Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. shelled nuts
1 lb. pitted dates
1 (8 oz.) jar maraschino cherries
1 c. flour
1 c. sugar
3/4 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
4 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 Tbsp. vermouth or brandy
Preparation

Put whole nuts, dates and cherries into a large bowl.
Sift flour, sugar, baking powder and salt over nuts and fruit.
Mix until coated.
Beat eggs until foamy and add vanilla. Stir into mixture until well blended. Grease or spray pans for baking:
8 x 4-inch loaf pan at 300\u00b0 for 70 to 80 minutes; 9 x 5-inch loaf pan at 300\u00b0 for 60 to 70 minutes; 10-inch Bundt pan at 300\u00b0 for 65 to 75 minutes; 4 small 3 1/2 x 5 1/2-inch pans at 300\u00b0 for 45 to 55 minutes.
Mixture has to be pushed into corners because there is very little batter.
