Ham And Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. Northern beans
    2 1/2 qt. water
    2 c. cubed, cooked ham
    1 c. sliced carrots
    1 c. sliced celery
    1/2 c. chopped onions
    2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. oregano
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    16 oz. can whole tomatoes, cut up
Preparation
    Rinse beans; place in Dutch oven with water.
    Bring to boil over high heat.
    Boil 2 minutes.
    Remove from heat; let stand 1 hour.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Simmer, covered.
