Banana Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. mashed ripe banana
    1 tsp. lemon juice
    2/3 c. buttermilk
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 eggs, lightly beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/4 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. nuts
Preparation
    Combine banana and lemon juice.
    Add buttermilk and shortening.
    Stir in the eggs and vanilla.
    Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar and salt.
    Add to liquid mixture, mixing well.
    Stir in nuts.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes. Makes 2 (8-inch) layers.
