Applesauce Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. applesauce
1 c. chocolate chips or raisins
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar together.
Combine dry ingredients together, all except the soda.
In separate bowl, add applesauce and the soda.
Stir, letting applesauce foam.
Add creamed mixture and applesauce together.
Mix while adding egg and vanilla, then add dry ingredients, beating until moist.
Stir in chocolate chips and drop by teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 15 to 20 minutes.
