Mostaccioli - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. Italian sausage
    1 lb. lean ground beef
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. pepper
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. parsley flakes
    1 tsp. basil
    3/4 c. onion, chopped
    1 clove garlic, minced
    2 Tbsp. olive oil
    28 oz. can crushed tomatoes
    6 oz. can tomato paste
    8 oz. can tomato sauce
    4 oz. can mushrooms, drained
    1/4 c. red wine
    3 c. uncooked mostaccioli
Preparation
    Saute onion and garlic in oil; set aside.
    Cook meat until done.
    Rinse off fat.
    Add to onion mixture and add remaining ingredients, except noodles.
    Cook to a boiling point, stirring frequently.
    Reduce heat and simmer slowly about an hour until it thickens.
    Cook noodles according to directions.
    Mix sauce and noodles.
    Serve with grated Romano or Parmesan cheese.
