Date Pecan Bars - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. margarine
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. warm water
dash of salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. pecans, chopped
3 c. flour
1/2 pkg. pitted dates
1 medium jar diced maraschino cherries
Preparation

Cream margarine and sugar. Add eggs. Combine baking soda and water; add to mixture. Add salt and vanilla; mix well.
Add dates, cherries and pecans. Stir in flour. Spread onto cookie sheet. Bake at 300\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes; cool. Cut into bars.
