Ingredients

2 c. sifted flour
1 c. butter or margarine
1/4 c. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. finely chopped nuts
whole pecans
powdered sugar
Preparation

Sift flour; measure.
Sift again with sugar and salt into mixing bowl.
Add butter and vanilla.
Blend with pastry blender. Add 2 cups of nuts.
Shape half of the dough into 1/2-inch balls. Roll in nuts or flatten the balls; press pecan in top.
Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
Roll remaining dough into logs; bake.
Roll in powdered sugar.
Makes 4 dozen.
