Black Walnut Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
5 eggs, separated
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. soda
2 c. plain flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nuts
1 (3 oz.) can coconut
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
Preparation

Combine butter and shortening until fluffy.
Add sugar, buttermilk, vanilla and egg yolks. Add coconut and nuts. Beat egg whites with cream of tartar until stiff. Fold into cake mix. Put in greased and floured cake pans. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
