Date-Carrot Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. chopped dates
    2 c. grated carrots
    3/4 c. coconut
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
    2 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    2 eggs
    3/4 c. brown sugar
Preparation
    Combine the first 4 ingredients and set aside.
    Sift the next 5 ingredients.
    Beat sugar and shortening until creamy.
    Beat in eggs, 1 at a time.
    Stir in sifted ingredients.
    Add date mixture. Put in a greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour or until done.
