Ingredients

1 stick butter or margarine
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
2 3/4 c. self-rising flour (if using plain flour, add 1 tsp. baking soda and 1/2 tsp. salt)
1 tsp. vanilla
2 Tbsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. cream of tartar
Preparation

Mix 2 tablespoons of sugar and 2 tablespoons of cinnamon in a bowl with lid; set aside.
Melt butter.
Add 1 1/2 cups of sugar; mix well.
Add eggs and vanilla.
Sift the flour and cream of tartar.
(Add salt and baking soda if needed.)
Combine flour mixture with butter mixture.
Mix well.
Add more flour if it sticks to your hands.
Roll into balls the size of walnut; place in sugar-cinnamon mixture.
Put lid on bowl and shake until dough is coated.
Place on cookie sheet sprayed with Pam, then use a fork to flatten.
Cook at 350\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
