Company Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. slivered almonds, toasted
    1 pkg. German chocolate
    2 Tbsp. butter
    3 eggs, slightly beaten
    1 c. dark corn syrup
    1/3 c. sugar
    1 c. finely chopped dates
Preparation
    Toast slivered almonds in a 400\u00b0 oven for at least 12 to 15 minutes.
    Melt chocolate with butter over very low heat, stirring constantly.
    Beat eggs in medium bowl; add corn syrup and sugar. Blend in the chocolate mixture.
    Stir in dates and toasted almonds.
    Pour into pie shell.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 minutes.
    Cool to room temperature.
    Garnish with whipped cream and a few toasted almond slivers.
