Oatmeal Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. quick cook oatmeal
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 large egg
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/3 c. shortening, melted
Preparation
    Soak oatmeal and buttermilk 1 hour or more.
    Beat egg; add to mixture.
    Add sugar.
    Then sift together salt, baking powder and soda.
    Add with melted shortening to mixture.
    Do not beat too much.
    Fill greased muffin pans 2/3 full.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
