Green Tomato Pickle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 c. sliced, peeled green tomatoes
    2 c. cider vinegar
    3 c. sugar
    2 tsp. salt
    1 c. sliced onions
Preparation
    Heat 1 cup vinegar, 1 1/2 cups sugar and 1 teaspoon salt.
    Add tomatoes and onions.
    Simmer for 5 minutes.
    Drain and throw away juice, then add 1 cup vinegar, 1 1/2 cups sugar and 1 teaspoon salt.
    Simmer for 5 minutes.
    Pack loosely in jars and then fill jars with boiling juice.
    Makes 3 pints.
