Chinese Pepper Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. steak
    1/4 c. shortening
    1 clove garlic
    1 c. bean sprouts
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    4 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    2 green peppers
    2 tomatoes
    2 Tbsp. water
Preparation
    Cut steak into 1-inch pieces, as thin as possible.
    Heat shortening, garlic, salt and pepper in skillet and in it cook beef until brown on both sides.
    Add soy sauce and sugar.
    Cover and cook on high heat 5 minutes.
    Add bean sprouts, tomato and green pepper.
    Cover and cook 3 minutes.
    Stir in cornstarch dissolved in water.
    Cook until sauce is thickened.
    Sprinkle with green onions.
    Serve with rice.
