Shrimp And Okra Gumbo - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. fresh okra
2 Tbsp. olive oil
1/4 c. butter
2 c. diced onions
2 green peppers
2 cloves garlic
1/4 c. all-purpose flour
2 (13 3/4 oz.) cans chicken broth
2 bay leaves
1/4 tsp. hot pepper sauce
1/4 tsp. thyme, crumbled
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp. salt
1 lb. canned tomatoes
2 c. water
1 lb. fresh shrimp or 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen shrimp
hot cooked rice
Preparation

Wash and dry okra.
Cut in 1/2-inch slices.
Heat olive oil and butter in heavy saucepan.
Saute okra, onion, garlic and green pepper for 3 or 4 minutes, stirring frequently.
Sprinkle with flour.
Stir until flour becomes golden brown.
Add tomatoes, chicken broth, water, bay leaves, thyme, hot pepper sauce, Worcestershire sauce and salt.
Cover, boil and simmer 45 minutes. Add shrimp and cook 10 minutes more.
Ladle gumbo over rice.
