New Alsace Church Picnic Cole Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    shredded cabbage (large dish pan full)
    1 handful carrots, shredded
    1 handful chopped green peppers
    1 small handful chopped onion
    pinch of white pepper
    4 tsp. salt
    1 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. bacon drippings
    1 c. vinegar
    1/4 c. water
Preparation
    Combine cabbage, carrots, green peppers and onion in a large bowl or dishpan. Bring pepper, salt, sugar, bacon drippings and vinegar to a boil in saucepan. Stir while boiling. Cool slightly and add 1/4 cup water. Pour over cabbage mixture.
