Fried Green Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 medium green tomatoes
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. lemon-pepper seasoning
    3/4 c. cornmeal
    1 egg, beaten
    1/2 c. vegetable oil
Preparation
    Slice tomatoes 1/4-inch thick.
    Sprinkle both sides with salt and lemon-pepper.
    Let stand for 20 to 25 minutes.
    Dip each tomato slice into egg, then into cornmeal.
    In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat.
    Fry tomatoes for 3 to 4 minutes on each side or until tender and golden brown.
    Drain on paper towels.
    Serve immediately.
    Yield: 6 to 8 servings.
