Kolache(Czech) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. warm water
1 1/2 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
2 tsp. salt
2 pkg. dry yeast
3/4 c. milk
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
3 1/2 c. flour
filling (apple, cherry, peach, prune or poppy seed)
Preparation

Mix in a large bowl 1 1/2 cups flour, 1/4 cup sugar, salt and dry yeast.
Heat milk, water and shortening until warm (120\u00b0 to 130\u00b0).
Pour into flour mixture.
Add eggs and beat with mixer at low speed for 1/2 minute.
Continue beating for 3 minutes at high speed.
Stir in 3 1/2 cups flour.
Dough will be soft.
Knead for about 3 minutes.
Let rest 10 minutes.
Shape with a dent in the center.
Fill as desired.
Let rise in a warm place, about 40 to 60 minutes.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
