Citrus Slice Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. butter or margarine, softened
1 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
food colors (yellow, green and red)
1 1/2 tsp. grated lemon peel
1 1/2 tsp. grated lime peel
1 1/2 tsp. grated orange peel
colored sugars (yellow, green, orange)

Preparation

Mix thoroughly the butter, granulated sugar, eggs and vanilla. Blend in flour and salt.
Divide dough into 3 equal parts.
To one part, work in a few drops yellow food color and the lemon peel. Repeat with green food coloring and lime peel, yellow/red food coloring and orange peel.
Chill for 1/2 hour.
Pack into Star and Heart Mold, one flavor at a time.
Refrigerate for 1 to 4 hours.
