Turtle Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. granulated sugar
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1/4 c. butter
    1/2 c. light corn syrup
    1/2 c. heavy cream
    1 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 bars German sweet chocolate
    pecan halves
Preparation
    Line baking pans with foil.
    Lightly butter foil.
    In a heavy saucepan, combine all ingredients except vanilla, nuts and chocolate.
    Cook, stirring with wooden spoon over low heat until sugar is dissolved.
    Cook hardball stage (244\u00b0).
    Remove; stir in vanilla.
    Turn into prepared pan; let cool 30 minutes.
    Cut into 26 pieces.
    Roll into balls; place on buttered cookie sheet.
    Make feet and head by pressing 5 pecan halves into each ball.
    Melt chocolate.
    Spoon 1 teaspoon chocolate over each ball, leaving part of pecans showing.
    Refrigerate to allow chocolate to harden.
