1/2 c. butter
2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
2 unbeaten eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped pecans (optional)
powdered sugar
Preparation

Melt butter in saucepan.
Add brown sugar and blend well with the melted butter.
Take pan from heat and cool.
Add unbeaten eggs and vanilla.
Beat vigorously with a wooden spoon.
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
Mix flour and sugar mixture together (pecans may be added).
Spread batter evenly in greased 8 x 12-inch pan.
Bake about 30 minutes at 350\u00b0.
Cut in strips while warm and roll in powdered sugar.
Makes 3 dozen bars.
