Dad'S Apple Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    pastry for double crust pie
    1 c. sugar
    1/3 c. flour
    1 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. ground allspice
    1/4 tsp. salt
    12 c. thinly sliced, peeled cooking apples
    3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    milk and sugar
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Prepare 2 crusts.
    Put one in a 12 x 7 1/2 x 2-inch baking dish.
    Cut slits in other crust; set aside. Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, allspice and salt (for juicy pie, use 1/4 cup flour).
    Add sugar mixture to apples; toss to coat fruit.
    Turn into baking dish (apples will mound higher than sides).
    Dot with butter.
    Carefully place pastry atop apples; flute to the sides but not over the edge.
    Brush with milk; sprinkle with sugar.
    Cover edge of pie with foil.
    Bake in oven for 25 minutes.
    Remove foil.
    Bake for 20 to 25 minutes more.
