Sea Island Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick butter or margarine
    1/3 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
    1 c. self-rising flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. flaked coconut
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    2 Tbsp. water
    1 egg
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
    6 oz. (3/4 c.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0. Grease a 9 x 9-inch baking dish. Melt butter and place in mixing bowl. Add sugars, water, flour, egg, vanilla, pecans and coconut, mixing well after each addition. Add the chocolate chips last. Spread batter in prepared pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool in pan. Cut into bars or squares for serving.
