White Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. milk
    6 Tbsp. sugar
    4 tsp. salt
    6 Tbsp. margarine or Crisco
    3 c. warm water
    2 pkg. or cakes yeast (active dry or compressed)
    11 c. flour (about)
Preparation
    Scald milk; stir in sugar, salt and margarine.
    Cool to lukewarm.
    Measure warm water into a large bowl.
    Sprinkle or crumble in yeast; stir until dissolved.
    Add lukewarm milk mixture and 3 cups flour; beat until smooth.
    Add enough additional flour to make a soft dough.
    Turn out onto lightly floured board.
    Knead until smooth and elastic.
    Form into a smooth ball.
    Place in a greased bowl turning to grease top.
    Cover; let rise in a warm place free from draft, until doubled in bulk, about 1 hour.
