Italian Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 to 5 Italian sausages, cut in 3/4-inch pieces *
    2 (4 oz.) cans sliced mushrooms
    1 large or 2 small onions
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 tsp. salt
    6 slices Mozzarella cheese
    2 (10 oz.) cans marinara sauce or homemade
    1/2 lb. elbow macaroni, cooked and drained
Preparation
    *Small meatballs may be substituted for sausage or use both.
