Meggett Spoon Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. cornmeal (white or yellow)
1/2 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. baking powder
4 eggs, separated
3 Tbsp. melted butter
Preparation

Combine cornmeal, salt, sugar and milk. Heat in double boiler until thick. Cool. Add 1 teaspoon baking powder. Beat egg yolks and whites of eggs separately. Add to cornmeal mixture, the egg yolks and melted butter. Fold in egg whites. Bake for 45 minutes in buttered baking dish at 300\u00b0. Serve promptly.
