Shortening Bread Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    5 c. flour
    1 lb. butter (do not substitute)
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar; beat in egg.
    Gradually add flour. Roll out 1/4-inch thick on lightly floured board.
    Cut as desired. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 325\u00b0 until light brown.
    Do not overcook.
    Do not freeze.
    They will keep for weeks in an airtight container.
