Italian Pork Chops - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 (1-inch) thick chops
seasoning salt and pepper
1/2 lb. small mushrooms (optional) or 1 can mushroom pieces
1 Tbsp. salad oil
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 clove garlic, sliced
2 large green peppers, cut in strips
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1/2 bay leaf
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
1/8 tsp. dried sage
Preparation

Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
Trim chops of excess fat.
Sprinkle with seasoning salt and pepper.
Saute until brown in pan, draining fat as it collects.
Place chops in 2 1/2-quart casserole dish. Arrange mushrooms around chops.
Set aside.
In another skillet, saute in salad oil the onions, garlic and pepper strips until golden brown.
Add tomato sauce, salt, pepper, bay leaf, lemon juice and sage.
Simmer covered until vegetables are fork-tender. Pour sauce over chops and bake 1 hour covered.
