Sauerkraut - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. kielbasi
    2 lb. sauerkraut (less if desired)
    1/2 c. chopped bacon
    1 small onion
    1 c. red wine or white wine
    1 c. water
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    dash of salt and pepper
Preparation
    Cut up bacon and fry.
    Add chopped onion to bacon and brown. Rinse and drain sauerkraut.
    Add to browned bacon and onion mix. Keep turning sauerkraut until brown.
    Add wine, water, sugar, salt and pepper.
    Slowly simmer over low heat for 3/4 hours.
    Cut up kielbasi and add to sauerkraut mix.
    Simmer 20 minutes.
    Serve over mashed potatoes.
