Ever Ready Bran Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. Kellogg's All-Bran
    2 c. Nabisco 100% Bran
    2 c. boiling water
    1 qt. buttermilk
    1 c. shortening
    3 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    5 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. salt
    5 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Pour water over cereal.
    Add buttermilk. Cream the shortening and sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add to cooled cereal. Sift flour with soda and salt. Stir into creamed mixture only to dampen. Don't overmix.
    Store in tight containers in refrigerator. Fill muffin tins 2/3 full. Bake at 375\u00b0 for about 30 minutes. Mixture will keep for 3 weeks. Makes 6 dozen.
