Irish Soda Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 c. flour
3 Tbsp. sugar
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
6 Tbsp. margarine
1 1/2 c. golden raisins
2 large eggs
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Mix first 5 ingredients in large bowl.
Use pastry blender to cut margarine into coarse crumbs.
Stir in raisins.
Beat eggs slightly and reserve 1 tablespoon for top of loaf.
Stir buttermilk and rest of egg into flour mixture, just until flour is moistened.
Dough will be sticky.
Turn dough onto well-floured surface.
Knead 8 to 10 strokes with floured hands.
Shape dough into ball and place in a greased 2-quart round casserole.
Cut 4-inches cross about 1/4-inch deep in center.
Brush with reserved egg.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
