Pear Honey - cooking recipe

16 c. ground pears
4 medium oranges
1 c. sugar for each c. of mixture
1 c. vinegar
1 large can crushed pineapple
2 bottles maraschino cherries
Preparation

Peel, core and grind the pears.
Remove the seeds from oranges and grind the entire orange on medium blade of food chopper.
Do not drain pineapple.
Drain and chop cherries.
Mix all ingredients together.
Divide mixture into thirds; cook 1/3 at a time until it jells when tested on a saucer.
Put some on a saucer; turn to side and if it doesn't \"run\" it is thick enough.
Seal in hot sterilized jars.
I do not use as much sugar.
Taste to see amount you think is best.
