Indian Fry Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 3/4 c. self-rising flour
    1 c. warm water
    1 c. shortening
Preparation
    Mix flour and warm water with spoon until it forms a ball and leaves side of bowl.
    Pinch off about 1 tablespoon and pat into circles as flat as you can.
    Poke a hole in the center to make sure it cooks through.
    Melt shortening for deep drying.
    Deep fry until golden brown.
    It will puff up while cooking.
    Makes about 2 dozen.
