Frosted Chewies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. white sugar
    1 c. peanut butter
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. butterscotch chips
    1 c. light corn syrup
    6 c. Kellogg's Special K cereal
Preparation
    Place sugar and corn syrup in medium size saucepan; stir to combine.
    Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until mixture just boils good.
    Remove from heat; add peanut butter and mix well.
    Add cereal; stir until evenly coated.
    Press mixture evenly and firmly in buttered 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan and cool.
    Melt chocolate and butterscotch chips together in top section of double boiler over hot, not boiling, water or in heavy small saucepan over very low heat, stirring constantly.
    Remove from heat; spread evenly over cereal mixture.
    Let stand in cool place until firm. Cut into 2 x 1-inch pieces.
    Makes 48.
