Apple Dumplings - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 (11 oz.) box refrigerated double crust pastry
4 golden delicious apples, peeled, cored and halved
2 c. sugar
2 c. water
1 stick margarine or butter
1 tsp. apple pie spice
Preparation

Separate crusts and cut each into four squares. Place 1 apple half onto each square of pastry. Gather crust around apple to cover, pinching edges to seal. Place dumplings in a 13x9 inch baking dish. Combine remaining ingredients in a saucepan and heat to a boil. Pour over dumplings. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes, or until dimplings are golden brown. Serve warm with ice cream, if desired.
