Banana Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/3 c. shortening
    2/3 c. sugar
    2 eggs, well beaten
    1 c. mashed ripe bananas (2 or 3)
    1/3 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Sift together flour, baking powder, soda and salt; set aside. Work shortening in bowl until creamy.
    Gradually add sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
    Add eggs and beat well.
    Add flour mixture alternately with mashed bananas, a small amount at a time, beating after each addition until smooth.
    Fold in chopped nuts. Turn into a well greased loaf pan, 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 3-inches.
    Bake in moderate oven at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
    Remove from oven.
    Cool slightly; turn out of pan.
